Foreign Language: Spanish, Mandarin Chinese
During their weekly foreign language lessons, the children listen to stories, play games, sing songs and practice using their new language. The interactive foreign language lessons are designed considering research that shows the academic and cognitive benefits of studying a second language in early childhood. In addition to developing a knowledge and appreciation for foreign languages, studies show that children who are exposed to a new language have a greater ability to learn a second language later in life and demonstrate superior problem-solving skills.

Brain Gym
Building a strong mind and body is the focus of each Brain Gym class. Students follow-the-leader, balance, stretch and navigate obstacle courses to improve spatial awareness, physical fitness and coordination. Encouraging controlled movement with purpose helps their young minds retain and retrieve information.

Music
Music helps build intellectual and emotional skills, prepare a child’s brain for learning and strengthen reading and math skills. With this in mind, TKAP teachers incorporate music throughout the day’s activities to help their young students learn the alphabet, numbers, foreign language, nursery rhymes and even manners and social skills. Music appreciation is also instilled in the children as they enjoy singing, moving to music and playing instruments.
